The Tempest was a Pontiac car sold in two spans, one ending in 1970 and another between 1987 and 1991, introduced as an entry level compact for the 1961 model year with an innovative rear transaxle layout, enlarged to an intermediate in 1964 and the base model of a line that gave rise to the LeMans and the GTO, then revived in Canada as a rebadged Chevrolet Corsica. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 4 generations: the first generation, 1961 to 1963 (1961 to 1963); the second generation, 1964 to 1967 (1964 to 1967); the third generation, 1968 to 1970 (1968 to 1970); the fourth generation, 1987 to 1991 (1987 to 1991).
