Oldsmobile Toronado (first generation, 1966 to 1970)

Automobiles

The Toronado began as a design painting by Oldsmobile stylist David North in 1962, and a few weeks after it was finished the division was told it could build a personal car in the Riviera and Thunderbird class for the 1966 model year. For production economy the car shared the E body shell with the redesigned 1966 Buick Riviera, which was substantially larger than North had envisioned. Its model years run from 1966 to 1970.
