Mercury Topaz

Automobiles

The Topaz was Mercury's compact car for the 1984 to 1994 model years, the Lincoln Mercury counterpart of the Ford Tempo, taking its engine and chassis from the Ford Escort and introducing aerodynamic styling to Ford sedans. Its 1984 debut also brought the redesigned Mercury emblem used until the brand closed. The Mystique, developed from the Mondeo, replaced the Topaz sedan for 1995. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the first generation (1984 to 1987); the second generation (1988 to 1994).
