1984 Mercury Topaz

Automobiles

The Topaz was released in 1983 as a 1984 model, the Mercury counterpart of the Ford Tempo, with more than 107,000 two door Tempos and more than 295,000 four door Tempos sold in the first year. It offered two engines, including a 90 horsepower 2.3 liter HSC inline four. The Tempo and Topaz both featured windshields inclined at 60 degrees and aircraft inspired door frames, and the 1984 Topaz marked the debut of the redesigned Mercury emblem.
