The MKS had a single generation, based on the Ford D3 platform with a front mounted engine and front or all wheel drive. It was presented at the Los Angeles show in November 2007 following the MKR concept, went into production in May 2008, and used a 3.7 liter Cyclone V6, with the 3.5 liter twin turbo EcoBoost added for 2010. A facelift debuted for 2013 and the last model year was 2016. Its model years run from 2009 to 2016.
