For model year 2010 the MKS continued to offer the 3.7 liter 24 valve Duratec engine, adding an optional twin turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 making 355 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque, standard on all wheel drive models. Active Park Assist, using ultrasonic sensors to parallel park the vehicle, became available in mid 2009 for the 2010 model year. The EcoBoost V6 reached showrooms in summer 2009. The MKS was based on the Ford D3 platform with a front mounted engine and front or all wheel drive.
