The fourth generation Expedition, internally the U553, was unveiled on 7 February 2017 in Frisco, Texas, and moved to the half ton hydroformed T3 platform of the 2015 F-150. Production started on 25 September 2017 and the vehicles reached dealers in November 2017 as 2018 models. The Expedition Max replaced the EL, and the 3.5 liter EcoBoost made 375 horsepower. A refresh came for 2022. Its model years run from 2018 to 2024.
