Production of the new Expedition started on 25 September 2017 and the vehicles arrived at dealerships in November 2017 as 2018 models. The fourth generation moved to the T3 half ton hydroformed platform, a modified version of the 2015 F-150 platform, and the 2018 Expedition was available in only four trim levels. Ford made the Expedition global in early 2018, and the Expedition Max debuted in November 2017 as successor to the EL.
