The 2023 Expedition continued the refreshed fourth generation introduced for 2022, in standard length and the longer Max version, powered by the twin turbocharged 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 with a ten speed automatic. It used the Terrain Management System that had been introduced in the 2018 model year, similar to the one on the Explorer, and the full size SUV competed with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and the Toyota Sequoia.
