The Dodge Polara was a car first sold in the United States for 1960 as the best trimmed full size Dodge. After the introduction of the Dodge Custom 880 in 1962 the Polara nameplate designated a step below the best trimmed Dodge model, and the name referred to the Polaris star in a marketing appeal to the excitement of the Space Race. It was built through the 1973 model year. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 4 generations: the 1960 to 1961 (1960 to 1961); the 1962 to 1964 (1962 to 1964); the 1965 to 1968 (1965 to 1968); the 1969 to 1973 (1969 to 1973).
