The 1968 Polara was the last of the square edged generation of full size Dodges on the Chrysler C platform, which Chrysler had moved the Polara to in 1965. It remained a step below the Monaco, in a full range of bodies, and the only full size Dodge convertible in the United States through 1970. One constant of the 1965 through 1968 models was square edged styling that was updated each model year. The Polara remained below the Monaco.
