The 1973 models received new front end styling reminiscent of the full size 1970 Chevrolets, abandoning the wraparound front bumper. The 1973 Polara was the last model year of the Polara in the United States, a full size Dodge in the fuselage design that had been introduced in 1969, below the Monaco. It was built in the fuselage design for the fifth year. Chrysler built it as a full size Dodge with sedan and station wagon bodies.
