Dodge Monaco (third generation)

Automobiles

The 1974 redesign gave the full size Monaco an all new unibody platform and sheet metal, and from that year every big Dodge carried the Monaco name because the Polara had been dropped. The timing was poor, since the oil crisis began within days of the introduction, and critics said the styling resembled a three year old Buick or Oldsmobile. The Royal Monaco names and hidden headlamps arrived in 1975, and the four door hardtop disappeared after that year. Its model years run from 1974 to 1976.
