The Dodge Lancer name was used three times on unrelated cars. From 1955 to 1959 it marked the pillarless hardtop models of the full size Coronet, Royal and Custom Royal. In 1961 and 1962 it was a more upscale badge engineered version of the Valiant compact, and from 1985 to 1989 it was a front wheel drive five door hatchback that was a rebadged Chrysler LeBaron GTS, replaced by the Dodge Spirit. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the 1955 to 1959 hardtops (1955 to 1959); the 1961 to 1962 compact (1961 to 1962); the 1985 to 1989 hatchback (1985 to 1989).
