The third Challenger is a full size rear drive muscle car that went on sale in early 2008 as a rival to the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. Its styling was drawn from the 1970 Challenger R/T and it rode on a short wheelbase version of the LX platform shared with the Charger and Chrysler 300. It grew from a V6 and Hemi V8 range to the supercharged Hellcat, Redeye and Demon models, added all wheel drive in the GT, and ended after the 2023 model year when Stellantis dropped it for tighter emission rules. The last one was built on 22 December 2023. Its model years run from 2008 to 2023.
