For 2012 the base SE trim was renamed SXT to match the naming of the rest of the Dodge range, and the SXT was now sold in the United States as well as Canada. The SRT8 392 gained an adaptive suspension with Auto and Sport modes that tuned damping from sensors measuring speed, steering angle and braking. The Challenger SRT8 392 could be had with a five speed automatic or a six speed manual, and Dodge's engineers had given up peak horsepower for low end torque in the 6.4 liter Hemi.
