The first generation Sebring was introduced as a coupe for 1995, and as a convertible in 1996, both replacing the Chrysler LeBaron coupe and convertible. The coupe was styled by Chrysler and manufactured at the Mitsubishi plant in Normal, Illinois, on the platform of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Galant and Dodge Avenger, while the convertible was assembled in Mexico alongside the Cirrus sedan. Its model years run from 1995 to 2000.
