The second generation Sebring was presented by DaimlerChrysler at the New York Auto Show in 2000 for the 2001 model year, as a sedan, coupe and convertible. The coupe was based on the Mitsubishi Eclipse ST platform, while the sedan and convertible used the Chrysler JR platform, a successor to the Chrysler Cirrus. The convertible front end was restyled to resemble the sedan, the sedan received minor tweaks in 2004, and the coupe was discontinued after 2005. Its model years run from 2001 to 2006.
