The 507 is the luxury grand touring convertible that BMW produced from 1956 until 1959, conceived by the American importer Max Hoffman, who in 1954 persuaded BMW management to produce a roadster version of the 501 and 502 saloons. It was designed by Albrecht von Goertz, debuted at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York in the summer of 1955, and proved too costly, with just 252 built and major losses for BMW. Today the 507 is the most valuable BMW ever built. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1956 to 1959).
