Some of the prominent buyers of the 507 were Elvis Presley, who owned one and five years later gifted another, a 1958 model, to the actress Ursula Andress, and the actor Fred Astaire, who bought his 1957 model from Andress' husband John Derek. The 507 of 1957 was a luxury grand touring convertible produced by BMW, in its first full year, which was too costly for the market it was planned for. Prominent buyers included Alain Delon and Count Agusta.
