In 2017 a facelift model was released that introduced newer sheet metal and interior design, sharing the front styling with the Yaris hatchback, and in Thailand the 2017 facelifted model was marketed as the Toyota Yaris Ativ with the smaller 1.2 liter engine. The facelifted Vios was launched in Thailand in January 2017. It was model year 5 of 7 in the Toyota Vios (third generation, XP150), 2013 to 2021, coming after the 2016 model year and before the 2018 model year.
