The first generation Demio of 2004 was built in the Colombia plant of Mazda, a tall hatchback of the DW platform, for the Colombian market, while elsewhere the second generation Demio, called the Mazda2, was on sale. It was the second year of production only in Colombia, a continuation that went on to the end of 2007, when the DE model replaced it, and the car had a 1.3 liter or a 1.5 liter engine. The Demio was built on the Mazda D platform, preceded by the Ford Festiva and the Autozam Revue.
