The first generation Demio of 2005 was in its third year of production at the Colombia plant of Mazda, a tall, minivan like hatchback of the DW platform sold in Colombia as the Mazda Demio. The platform had been used by the Ford Festiva, which was designed and built by Mazda for Ford and also sold as the Mazda 121, and by the Revue of the Autozam marque, before the Demio. The first generation Demio was sold as the Ford Festiva Mini Wagon in some markets.
