2002 Ford Laser

Automobiles

In March 2002 Ford made a last effort with minor upgrades to the SR2 and three new colours, but in September 2002 it decided to end the Laser in Australia in favour of the European built Focus. Production in Japan also ended at the close of 2002. The Laser was a Ford badged version of the Mazda Familia, and it was one of the smaller cars in the Ford range of that period. Buyers in Australia and New Zealand often did not realise the Ford was based on the Mazda 323.
