The fifth generation Celica was introduced in September 1989 for the 1990 model year. The fourth generation took its first WRC victory at the 1989 Rally Australia, and the limited edition SX White Lightning with all white bumpers, side protectors and wheels was offered in Australia in 1989. This was the first model year of the Toyota Celica (fifth generation, T180), 1989 to 1993, which took over from the Toyota Celica (fourth generation, T160); the 1990 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Celica run from 1970 to 2006.
