In 1989 the Granada Mark III was in its fifth year on sale, still sharing its floorpan, doors and roof with the Scorpio sold on the Continent. The car had won the European Car of the Year award for 1986 and retained its antilock brakes as standard, with the Cologne V6 engines carried over from the previous range in 2.4 and 2.8 liter capacities, the latter later growing to 2.9 liters. It was the last Granada of the name in Britain and Ireland, to be replaced in 1994.
