The Granada Mark III carried on in 1988 as the British and Irish version of the Scorpio, an executive car on a stretched Sierra floorpan and suspension. It was the first European volume production model to have antilock brakes standard across the range, which remained a selling point, and the engine range still ran from the 1.8 liter Pinto through 2.0 liter fuel injection to the 2.4 and 2.9 liter Cologne V6 units.
