In February 1985 the 100,000th Kijang left the production line, and in December 1985 the 1.3 liter 4K engine was replaced by a 1.5 liter 5K engine. The 1986 model could be told from outside by rectangular headlamps and a redesigned grille. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota Kijang (second generation, F20 and F30), 1981 to 1985, and the Toyota Kijang (third generation, F40 and F50) came next, following the 1984 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Kijang run from 1976 to 2007.
