Automobiles

For 1984 the trim levels were revised again, the GLX being dropped and replaced by a fuel injected LX for the five door hatchback and wagon, which had the GT's fuel injected engine and its blackout trim. The interior got a new dashboard. Two new engines arrived: a Mazda sourced 2.0 liter diesel making 52 horsepower and a turbocharged 1.6 liter making 120 horsepower for the EXP Turbo and later the Escort GT.
