1985 Ford Escort (North America)

Automobiles

The 1985 Escort, sold as a 1985½ model, had much of the bodyshell carried over but its front end revised for aerodynamics, with a smaller grille and flush mounted headlamps, and chrome now mostly left to the bumpers. The 1.6 liter engine was replaced with a more powerful 1.9 liter making 86 horsepower, and 108 horsepower in the GT, which was available only with manual transmission as the Turbo GT was retired.
