The 1977 Colony Park carried on as the Marquis line wagon in the late fifth generation, the longest and heaviest wagon ever sold by Mercury. The platform sold approximately 7,850,000 full size Fords and Mercurys over 1969 to 1978, making it the second best selling Ford automobile platform after the Model T. It had the pillarless hardtop roofline and woodgrain panels. The Colony Park was a body on frame wagon sharing its wheelbase with the Ford Country Squire and LTD.
