1975 Subaru Rex

Automobiles

During 1975 the Rex van received a higher roof so that it could hold four people, which was needed under the commercial vehicle rules because the floor had to be flat with the rear seat folded. Because the engine sat in the rear the load floor was high, so the extra headroom was required before a seat could be fitted, and the wagon lost most of its market to the four seat van. The Rex was available in commercial use versions as well as in a passenger car version.
