In 1971 the Colony Park carried on as the Marquis line wagon and the senior level Mercury wagon beside the Monterey, senior to the slightly shorter Montego wagon. Its curb weight of nearly 5,000 pounds called for a standard 400 cubic inch V8, with the 429 cubic inch V8 as an option, and it kept the covered headlights and woodgrain panels of the fifth generation. The Colony Park was a body on frame wagon sharing its wheelbase with the Ford Country Squire and LTD.
