The 1968 Imperial was little changed from 1967, with a new brightly chromed grille with thin horizontal bars split by a round Imperial eagle badge, cornering lamps covered by matching grilles, rear reflectors and a federally mandated energy absorbing steering column. The base model was canceled after one year and the four door sedan joined the Crown level. At 7,599 dollars the LeBaron was among the most expensive American cars, and it was the last year for the Imperial convertible, with 15,367 sold.
