1954 Plymouth Belvedere

Automobiles

The Belvedere replaced the Cranbrook as Plymouth's top line for 1954 and became a separate model offered as a convertible, a two door station wagon and a four door sedan, while the two door hardtop was renamed the Sport Coupe. Small chrome tailfins appeared on the rear fenders for the first time, the entry level Plaza was introduced beneath it, and the PowerFlite two speed fully automatic transmission arrived in March. Belvedere production totaled 32,492 cars.
