Cadillac is the luxury brand of General Motors, with its main markets in the United States, Canada and China. It was founded in 1902 from the remains of the Henry Ford Company by Henry Leland, took its name from the founder of Detroit, and was bought by General Motors in 1909 after it had already become one of the leading American luxury makers. Its precision, interchangeable parts won the Dewar Trophy in 1908 and its V8 engine set a standard for the industry, which earned the slogan Standard of the World. Many of its cars share platforms with other General Motors models. Every Cadillac model, generation and model year on this site links back to this brand page.
