The Continental Mark IV, the third generation of the Mark series, was sold from the 1972 to 1976 model years and grew in size over the Mark III, again as a counterpart of the Thunderbird. It added a rear side opera window that became standard in 1973, received revised front bodywork in 1973 for five mile per hour bumpers and a matching rear in 1974, and offered the Designer Series packages with fashion designers from 1976. Its model years run from 1972 to 1976.
