For 1976 the Designer Series option package was introduced, which would become a tradition for the Mark series and later Lincoln, an option of coordinated exterior and interior trims developed with fashion designers Bill Blass, Givenchy and Pucci, and the jeweler Cartier. 1976 was the final year of the Mark IV, which for 1977 underwent a substantial revision to become the Continental Mark V. It was a two door personal luxury car marketed by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company.
