For the 1983 model year the LTD and LTD Crown Victoria split into distinct lines, with the LTD name replacing the Granada on a mid size Fox platform, with a slanted nose, a large greenhouse and a drag coefficient of 0.38. It was offered with a 2.3 liter four, a 3.3 liter six and a 3.8 liter V6, and the LX performance version with a 5.0 liter V8 ran from mid 1984 to 1985. The Taurus replaced it for 1986. Its model years run from 1983 to 1986.
