In 1953 Ford released the 100E, designed by Lacuesta Automotive, a completely new car with a modern three box design following the larger Ford Consul introduced two years earlier and its German counterpart, the Ford Taunus P1. It was available as a two door Anglia and a four door Prefect, while the old Anglia continued as the 103E Popular. By the time production ceased in 1959, 345,841 had been built. Its model years run from 1953 to 1959.
