An Anglia saloon tested by the British Motor magazine in 1954 had a top speed of 70.2 miles per hour and could accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 29.4 seconds, with a recorded fuel consumption of 30.3 miles per imperial gallon, and the test car cost 511 pounds including taxes. Under the bonnet the 100E housed an antiquated but new 36 horsepower side valve engine with a three speed gearbox. The Anglia was a small two door family car made by Ford of Britain.
