Chevrolet Corvette (C5, 1997 to 2004)

Automobiles

The fifth generation Corvette was unveiled in January 1997, after a delay from the planned 1993 debut caused by financial trouble and staff changes at General Motors. It had a hydroformed box frame, a transaxle at the rear for better balance, and the first LS series small block engine used by General Motors. Fastback, convertible and hardtop bodies were sold, and the Z06 arrived in 2001. It was the last Corvette with pop up headlights. Its model years run from 1997 to 2004.
