A third body style, the hardtop, was added to the lineup for the 1999 model year, announced in the summer of 1998. The hardtop was also sold with the FE3 sport suspension as standard in 1999 and 2000, and it joined the fastback and the convertible, so the line had three body styles for the first time in the C5 run. The 1999 car also added a fixed roof coupe with a sport suspension as standard, which gave the C5 line fastback, convertible and hardtop bodies.
