The 2000 Corvette was in the middle of a stretch in which there were few basic changes from one model year to the next, other than new wheels, paint colors and optional equipment, and a small power increase. The hardtop version, with sport suspension as standard, was still sold in 2000. The C5 introduced the parallel or tandem windshield wiper arrangement, giving up the opposed pattern used on every Corvette since 1953, and suspension choices were the standard FE1, the autocross inspired FE3 sport suspension or the F45 selective ride control.
