The 1993 model year was the third for the Acura NSX, and the car was still a pop-up headlight coupe with a transversely mounted aluminium V6 and a manual gearbox only. The NSX was built at the dedicated Takanezawa plant in Tochigi, Japan, by hand-picked assemblers. The coupe's five-speed manual was the only gearbox on offer, and the NSX in the showroom was assembled with great care, using hand-built methods that Honda described as unusual for a production car.
