The 1992 NSX, the car's second year in North America, continued as the coupe with pop-up headlights, a 3.0 litre V6 and a five-speed manual, assembled by hand by a team of around 200 chosen Honda workers. In Japan Honda built the first NSX-R this year, a stripped track version that never went on sale in North America, where buyers kept the standard road car with the same engine and gearbox as in the previous two years. Of the standard features, the NSX had electric power steering, a four-channel anti-lock brake system and front and rear double-wishbone suspension.
