For 1988 the Integra received a mild facelift, with changed indicator lamps, better climate control and refreshed gauges. It also stayed on Car and Driver's 10Best list for a second year, and won the IMSA sedan manufacturers' championship for the second time in a row. Engines of this period and the next year are known to enthusiasts by the colour of their valve covers, and the later ones brought lighter rods and slightly higher compression for a gain of about five horsepower.
