The third generation Vitz was introduced in December 2010 with a redesigned front fascia, roomier interior, single windshield wiper and instrument cluster relocated in front of the driver, launched in Japan on 22 December 2010 in Yokohama. A sedan body style arrived in 2013, derived from the Asian market Vios, though the United States and Canada never received it. A facelift came in 2014 designed by Toyota Europe, and a second facelift version of the Vitz was launched in Japan on 12 January 2017. In 2015 the Mazda2 was rebadged as a Yaris for North America.
