Toyota Supra (fourth generation, A80)

Automobiles

The A80 was developed from February 1989 under Isao Tsuzuki, with its design frozen in late 1990, and it used subframe, suspension and drivetrain parts from the Z30 Soarer. It was introduced in May 1993 with a 3.0 liter inline six, naturally aspirated or with the twin turbo 2JZ-GTE making 321 horsepower. Sales of sport coupes were declining by the late 1990s, so the Supra left Canada in 1996, Europe in 1996 and the United States in 1998, and production in Japan ended in August 2002 because of restrictive emission standards.
