The third generation model was introduced in 2006 in Japanese and Australian markets as the Estima and Tarago respectively, and as the Previa in other markets. The Australian market version kept the Tarago name when released in March 2006, with the 2.4 liter 2AZ-FE engine. It received a minor facelift in 2009, a first facelift in December 2008, and a second launched in mid 2016 which offered Toyota Safety Sense C for the first time, only for Japanese models.
